FDA Decision on Monovalent mRNA Vaccines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recently revised the mRNA COVID-19 vaccination schedule for different age groups. Children aged 6 months to 4 years may need 2 or 3 bivalent mRNA vaccine doses depending on the vaccine product, while children aged 5 years may need 1 or 2 doses. People aged 6 years and older who haven’t been vaccinated or have only received monovalent vaccine doses should receive 1 bivalent mRNA vaccine dose. Additionally, those aged 65 and older may receive 1 extra bivalent mRNA vaccine dose. It’s important to follow the revised schedule and get vaccinated to protect yourself and others against COVID-19. So, let’s stay informed and do our part to help end this pandemic! CDC’s updated Interim Clinical Considerations for administration of COVID-19 vaccines.
