Addressing Future Challenges
MSSNY leaders attended the AMA National Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC on February 13-15. We visited several elected officials to discuss issues concerning physicians, patients, and healthcare in America.
Our priorities were physician payment reform, prior authorization, the physician workforce shortage, increasing residency slots, and scope of practice. Here are the details about each agenda item:https://www.ama-assn.org/system/files/2023-NAC-action-kit.pdf.
Our patients suffer when prior authorization requirements delay or deny the care they need. Reduction in physician payment is detrimental to overall healthcare. The physician shortage is real; America needs more medical schools and residency slots. I am thankful to all who gave their valuable time. While I visited Washington and we all are taking a fight for our patents.
To address state priorities, please join us in Albany on March 14th for Advocacy Day. Register here.
Whereas moral courage is the righting of wrongs, creative courage, in contrast, is discovering new forms, symbols, and patterns on which a new society can be built. — Rollo May
The essence of courage is to believe in your dream, to believe the impossible is possible, and to work towards its attainment.
