MSSNY Member Shares Reasons for Ongoing Contract Disputes

Dr. Digant Nanavati, a Medical Society of the State of New York member and president of Onondaga County Medical Society, attributes ongoing contract disputes between physician practices and insurance companies to rising practice operation costs, prior authorization bureaucracy, and Medicare value-based care mandates. To provide crucial care to patients, Nanavati says, “It’s important for both the groups, as well as the insurance companies, to sit down together, listen to each other and see if they can find a solution.”
